Decades opened in 2019 after transforming the 98-year old Stahr Armory building into a new destination, breathing life into the iconic location while honoring its past.

As we look back during America’s 250th celebration, we are grateful that Decades repurposed such an iconic building in Lancaster, PA.

“Initial plans for the facility included a rear drill hall with space large enough to drill a battalion and an administration building with room to house offices, space for various veteran organizations and a war trophy room,” notes Dr. James McMahon, who recently authored a story about the history of the Stahr Armory. “Revenue for upkeep of the facility would be provided by rental fees for office space. The drill hall could be used for hosting sporting events – including wrestling, tennis, and basketball – as well as for raising funds by hosting social functions, exhibitions, and concerts.”
